My
most popular request is to pipe the bride down the aisle. Very
often this is a surprise to the guests and makes a lasting visual
and aural impact. When following the piper down the aisle, please
stay at least 15 feet behind so the photographer can get those
important pictures.
I
will always appear in full highland dress to lend an air of
elegance and sophistication to your wedding. For more casual
outdoor weddings, especially in hot weather, I might forego
the wool jacket in favor of a dress shirt.
It
is suggested that you check with the church about having bagpipes.
A very few denominations do now allow NON-secular music in their
sanctuaries If that is the case, the piper can stand outside
the church and welcome the guests and also play at the end of
the ceremony. Please remember, pipes become unstable in cold
weather.
I
am also often asked to welcome guests at the reception and to
pipe the bride and groom from the entrance to the table of honor.
This is a wonderful way to set the festive mood of the reception.
Amazing
Grace is probably one of the best known tunes on the bagpipes.
Most people want it in their ceremony, but some absolutely do
not. It is your decision.
There
are many Celtic wedding traditions. I will be happy to help
you customize them for your wedding
