Music has always been a big part of my life. I began lessons as a young child and studied with several teachers through high school. When my family was young, I decided that teaching piano was something that I had always wanted to do. I began studying pedagogy in earnest with the best master teachers in my area and started down the road of MTNA certification. For the next 11 years I studied and was influenced by my Juilliard teacher, Kay Lund, who prepared me for my National Certification exams. I have been a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Piano for 7 years. I have held all board positions for the Kalispell Area Music Teachers Association and am chairperson of the annual Spring Festival, coordinating 6 adjudicators for over 150 students. I have also served as Librarian for this organization for over 10 years and serve as the Technology chairperson for the Montana State Music Teachers Association. I have also written several articles for Keyboard Companion Magazine on technology issues.
